Another pic! I made a side-by-side comparison pic. Because I can't get over it. And I'm only like 1/3 of the way to my goal, yo.

I have two cats, Taz and Spock. I've had Spock for over a year now, I guess, and I've just noticed in the past month or two that his tongue is often sticking out a little bit. His mouth will be closed, and the tip of his tongue will be poking out. I was just curious if anyone else's cats did this? It's kind of funny, actually.

And a picture of the little stinker... )

I'm having some trouble with increases. I'm making a scarf that will be wider in the middle than at the ends. It's in 2x2 ribbing, and I want to make the ribbing wider for the wider bit. Problem is, every kind of increase I try leaves a hole underneath. :( I've tried m1-r, m1-l, bar increase/Kfb (doesn't leave a gap but I *hate* that little bar), a modified kfb that goes back into the stitch and slips it purlwise. I've tried purl increases, which seem slightly better, but still with the hole. The gauge is fairly loose (Drops Merino (dk) on US 5 needles), but not so loose that a gap like what's happening won't bug the hell out of me every time I see it.

Is there a trick to increasing on ribbing that I'm not getting, a magic increase that won't leave a hole (some of the ones I've tried normally don't, which is why I'm stumped)? Or will I just have to deal with either the bar or the holes? Any advice/opinion/commentary would be appreciated. :)

It is all the bikes' fault. I'd all but forgotten I'd bought those bike-shaped pasta but when I saw them in my bag of "funny pasta" I keep around, I got the idea to the traffic light scenario. And since it's far too seldom I have a reason to use my hiragana-cutters, I leapt to the possibility here and wrote とまれ (STOP!)

The horribly overexposed blob in the corner is a Cinnamoroll-shaped egg btw. I hate photographing eggs...

Are there any home remedies or tips for getting your bunny to stop chewing on the edges of the wall?

I know I read something in here a while ago answering that question, but I cant find it and I dont remember what the answer was.

Hello All,

Wondering, can you suggest some good tour companies? My cousin and I are considering touring Greece, we'd like to see a lot of it, for not a lot of money. We're perfectly okay with companies that use Hostels for sleeping. I've looked at conitki, statravel and a myriad of other places but don't know what's the best, what company would you recommend?

thanks!

x-posted, sorry!

It's been about three weeks since my brother got his new kitten, Gabriel (Gabe.) He went back to the vet today to get some more shots and he's gone from 1.5 pounds (at 5 or 6 weeks old) to 2.8 pounds. He's getting so big! So, I thought I'd post some more pictures. )

Hi all! So today I became a new  mommy to a three month old kitten named Spock. I rescued him from ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation) the told me that he & his brothers & sister were abandoned there in a plastic tub with a lid on it and no air holes swimming in their own urine in July when they were newborns and they didn't think they'd survive. He's the last of his litter to be adopted out and I'm so glad I was the one who adopted him & he chose me.  He is such a sweetie and follows me everywhere. He is just a joy to be around. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions here since it's been a long time since I've had a kitten of my own.

Apologies if this is off-topic...but I keep seeing this ad around.

Anybody else notice what's wrong with this (admittedly cute) picture? ;D

(click for bigger version)

Edit: Okay I guess there's all sorts of things wrong with it! LOL The one that caught my eye immediately was the fact that the Mini-Rex 'hero' has such long straight perfect whiskers when Mini-Rexes have short curly whiskers (if they have any at all). Clearly they felt he was inadequately endowed in the whisker department and gave him some falsies. :P

Leftover Bruschetta from tonight's dinner are the main part then there are multi coloured tomatoes, some sort of sesame biscuit thing, two fruit gummys and some druit fruits and almonds and then a sort of italian brioche/cornetto thing with protective baking paper in case the apricot jam oozes.  The brioche thing was the result of a terrible recipe that managed to produce something delicious but was so not what I set out to cook!

After a week of no bento, here's #4! I was pleased with how this one turned out visually, even though I'm sure there's still room for improvement. Same for the photography. I'm definitely getting more used to how much food I need for a satisfying lunch.

Top: baby carrots, two leftover meatballs, brussels sprouts
Bottom: the rest of the brussels sprouts, roast beef and swiss cheese wrap

Bento #3, yesterday's bento, didn't come out that great, so I'll put it behind the cut.

Hello! What's the best way to clean up pee off of the carpet? I've read white vinegar works but wasn't sure. Also, is there ANY way to get my bun to stop trying to dig up the carpet? it's only the corners of rooms that she does it, and i know it's very normal..just wanted to know if there's a way to get her to stop. I've heard to rub perfume on the area, but tried and it didn't do much good. Anyone have any suggestions?

And one more question! My bun gets spayed thursday. Her cage has a second level that she loves to jump up on, even though there's a ramp for her to use. Will this hurt her when she's healing? I don't know if she'll even feel like jumping up there but i just wanted to make sure.

Thank you all :)

Comfort food

Chicken noodle casserole with a very small amount of mashed potatoes
Red and green grapes

Snackish

Grapes, flower/star carrots, pumpkin cake muffins, peanuts, Hershey's kiss, hotdog crab

I want to have more vegetables in my lunches, but I can't really get the fresh stuff. Anyone know any recipes (or where to find them) for frozen vegetables in one or two servings?

As always, if my pictures are too big, let me know. :-) Thanks!
